Perfect Recall is a program which can organize information, simplify many tasks, and enhance the learning of facts.

The program manages a database, or a collection of records. Each record can contain text and/or images. For example, a database could consist of a collection of nautical terms and their definitions, or of articles from newspapers, or entire books. These records, in turn, can be accessed in a variety of ways, including the name or date of publication (in the case of a newspaper article or book), or the date of an event referenced within the article.

A record may also contain the locations and names of files (such as Word, Excel, or pdf files) on ones computer. Those files may then be easily loaded into their respective applications (Word, Excel, or Adobe Reader, for example). Often a project consists of a number of such files. By easily opening such a group of files, the program simplifies the process of getting down to work. Similarly, the program can run a web browser and access an address on the internet.

A record may contain a question (such as What is the capital of France?). If one responds well to the question, it is seen less often, while poor responding results in it being seen more often. In this way time is not wasted on well-learned material.

With these three capabilities, the program can be used in a variety of situations. For example, anyone doing scientific writing needs access to scientific papers. While it is often possible to download such papers (from PubMed Central, for example), organizing and accessing them can be difficult. With this program, such papers can be easily accessed and so consulted when needed.

Many of us want or need to learn specific facts. For example, a survey by National Geographic found that many young Americans are ignorant of much basic geographic knowledge. A program such as this could in principle remedy that situation.

Many of us read newspapers, but few of us remember much that we have read. With this program, such articles can be saved and accessed as needed. Over time it is possible to build up a personal encyclopedia, reflecting ones particular perspective on the world.

Perfect Recall, then, is an ideal tool for anyone who deals with information on more than a casual basis.

The program comes with a user manual (on disk), a help file, and an introductory database that can be viewed in order to learn the basics. All you need to know are the fundamentals of the Windows operating system (how to start Word and open a file within Word would suffice for most people).

Purchase of the program is available here at the web site. A CD will be sent to your address.

This program is protected by patent # 6,419,496 from the United States Patent Office. (This patent relates to learning and retaining information in an efficient manner.)

Price: $30 (plus applicable tax) plus postage for a single CD. Contact Casco Courseware for volume sales and site licenses.
